Caleb Eckerd

Pastor Caleb and Braeley were married in June 2021 but have been serving God together for nearly a decade. Their first calling is to apprentice under Jesus and aspire to live like Him every day. Pastor Caleb is passionate about seeing people come to saving faith in God for the first time and helping them grow deeper in their relationship with Christ. He is committed to knowing God, glorifying Him, and making Him known here, there, and everywhere!

Pastor Caleb came to saving faith in March 2012 and was baptized at Swift Creek Baptist Church in Richmond, VA. He was called into vocational ministry at the age of 16, during which he wrote his first two books: Destination: God and Calling. Sending. Reaching. However, he wasn’t entirely sure what ‘vocational ministry’ would look like in the future. Would it mean becoming a missionary? Starting a non-profit ministry? Becoming a pastor?

In 2021, God made it abundantly clear that He was calling Pastor Caleb to church planting—the process of launching new churches in various areas. After an eight-month journey of prayer and searching through 37 cities across North America, God led Pastor Caleb and Braeley to plant CrossView Community Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Before moving to Virginia Beach, he served as a Pastoral Associate at his sending church, Parkway Baptist Church, where he launched community groups, wrote curriculum and sermons, and provided leadership to new members. Pastor Caleb is passionate about being authentic as he equips and empowers people to love God, love others, and live out the Great Commission here, there, and everywhere.
